What can I expect in class?
INTERNATIONAL MIX
Of course, everyone has different strengths and weaknesses, so we expect students in an international group class to interact and support each other.
Remember that over 80% of the world’s English is spoken amongst non-native speakers.
RESOURCES AND MATERIALS
We provide your learning materials here in school. We do not sell you books (except exam coursebooks) because we expect you to progress up through the levels.
We use coursebooks during the first lesson of the day, to focus on functions and skills. Various communicative techniques are used, to allow for a variety of learning styles amongst students. In the second class we use a variety of published materials to aid such activities as vocabulary building, and authentic materials such as newspapers, videos, radio, magazines etc.
Teachers balance pair group and individual work in class and encourage students to discuss any issues they may have.
When you feel ready you may like to move up a level. To move class, discuss the issues with your teacher first. Teachers will discuss your progress and suggest a next step. Teachers liaise with the Director of Studies who will arrange any moves to be made.
