First day at school
What is my first day at school like?
Courses start each Monday at 9am. The school is open from 8.30am. We welcome you at reception where you register on arrival.
You then take a level placement test and our Director of Studies checks your oral level and carries out a needs analysis. As your placement test is being corrected, our student liaison officer gives you our student handbook, and explains ATC programmes to you. You have an opportunity here to discuss issues and possible problems such as accommodation, transport etc. Emergency exits and safety at school is explained and you are taken on a tour of the school. The Director of Studies meets you after the tour, having identified your level and allocated a specific class for you. You can of course discuss your course options with the Director of Studies at any time during your stay. The Welfare Officer is always available to help you with any issues or problems you may have.
You then meet the other students at a coffee break, and then are taken to class for the second lesson of the day.
After lunch, you are taken on a walking tour of Bray and Dublin, travelling by Dart to Dublin. Your family will welcome you home in the evening.
