Location
Kilkenny (128km from Dublin, population 18,000) is known as Ireland's medieval capital. It offers a selection of historical sites and buildings dating from the 7th century. Its famous landmark is Kilkenny Castle, former home of the Butler family - the Earls of Ormonde. Kilkenny has long been a national centre for crafts and design. It produces an impressive range of original works and giftware in glass, clay, precious metals, leather and textiles.
About the College
Kilkenny College is only a 10 minute walk from the town centre. It is the newest boarding school in Ireland, and offers a full range of modern indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
Accommodation
Accommodation is in multi-bedded rooms (2-5) beds. Shower and toilet facilities are located beside the rooms.
Sport & Recreational Facilities
Sports facilities include a large gymnasium where students play basketball, volleyball, indoor football and badminton. There are 16 tennis courts as well as numerous playing fields where students can participate in rounders, soccer, uni-hoc, and many other outdoor pursuits.
